SERMON: THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST

🔹 INTRODUCTION (True Story)

In 1945, after the end of World War II, a Japanese soldier named Hiroo Onoda remained hidden in the jungle for nearly 30 years. He did not believe the war had ended. Even after receiving leaflets and hearing news, he thought it was all enemy deception.

Only in 1974, when his former commander personally came and gave him a direct order, did he finally believe that the war was over.

For years, he lived trapped in a reality that no longer existed — all because he refused to accept the revelation of truth.

The same happens to many people today. The truth has already been revealed… but not everyone accepts it.

And that is exactly what we find in Revelation chapter 1: a direct revelation of Jesus Christ to humanity.

🔹 TOPIC 1 — JESUS REVEALS HIMSELF TO HUMANITY

The Bible begins by saying:

“Revelation of Jesus Christ…” (Revelation chapter 1, verse 1)

Here we understand something powerful:

  • This book is not about mystery, it is about revelation
  • God wants to be known
  • Jesus is not hidden — He is revealing Himself

It also says:

“Blessed is the one who reads…” (Revelation chapter 1, verse 3)

This means:

  • There is a blessing for those who seek to understand
  • God honors those who pay attention to His Word

👉 The first truth is clear:
God wants to speak to you.

🔹 TOPIC 2 — JESUS IS PRESENT AMONG HIS PEOPLE

John describes an incredible vision:

“I saw seven lampstands… and among them was One like the Son of Man” (Revelation chapter 1, verses 12 and 13)

This reveals:

  • Jesus is in the midst of His people
  • He is not distant
  • He sees, knows, and follows everything

And the description continues:

“His eyes were like blazing fire” (Revelation chapter 1, verse 14)

👉 This means:

  • Nothing is hidden from Him
  • He knows the heart
  • He sees beyond appearances

At the same time:

“His voice was like the sound of many waters” (Revelation chapter 1, verse 15)

👉 A powerful voice that calls and awakens

Jesus is not only Savior… He is the living and present Lord.

🔹 TOPIC 3 — JESUS HAS AUTHORITY OVER LIFE AND DEATH

When John saw this vision, he fell as though dead:

“I fell at His feet as though dead” (Revelation chapter 1, verse 17)

But Jesus did something incredible:

“Do not be afraid… I am the First and the Last” (Revelation chapter 1, verse 17)

And He declared:

“I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore” (Revelation chapter 1, verse 18)

👉 Here is the center of the message:

  • Jesus conquered death
  • He has total authority
  • He holds the keys of death and hell

This means:

  • No matter your situation
  • No matter what seems lost
    Jesus has power to restore.

🔹 CONCLUSION (True Story)

A man named John Newton was a slave trader in the 18th century. He lived a life completely far from God.

During a storm at sea, believing he was about to die, he cried out for mercy. That moment completely changed his life.

He abandoned the slave trade and became a transformed man. Later, he wrote one of the most famous hymns in the world:

“Amazing Grace”

Everything changed… when he had a real encounter with God.

Just as John had a vision of Jesus…
Just as that soldier needed to accept the truth…
Just as John Newton was transformed…

👉 The revelation continues today.

🔹 APPEAL:

Jesus is revealing Himself.

He sees you.
He knows your life.
He has power over everything.

The question is not whether He is real…

👉 The question is: will you accept this revelation?

Today is the day to open your heart.

Today is the day to hear His voice.

Today is the day to say:

“Lord, reveal Yourself to me.” ✝️
