Sermon Revelation 4
📖 THEME: “The Throne Is Still in Control”
(Based on Revelation Chapter 4)
🟡 INTRODUCTION (True Illustration)
Once, during a severe storm, passengers inside an airplane began to panic. The plane was shaking violently, and many believed they could crash at any moment.
But a little girl remained calm.
She did not cry. She showed no fear.
After the landing, someone asked her:
“How were you able to stay so calm?”
She answered:
“Because my father was the pilot.”
That is also the Christian life. The world seems out of control:
- wars
- fear
- injustice
- suffering
But in the Book of Revelation chapter 4, God reveals a powerful truth: the throne of the Universe is still occupied.
🔹 1. AN OPEN DOOR IN HEAVEN
📖 Revelation chapter 4 verses 1 and 2
John sees a door opened in heaven and is invited to witness something extraordinary.
Before showing the final events of Earth, God first reveals heaven.
👉 This teaches a powerful lesson: Before looking at the chaos of the world, we must look at the throne of God.
John sees Someone seated on the throne.
There is no despair in heaven.
There is no divine panic.
Everything remains under control.
Lesson:
When everything seems uncertain on Earth, God still reigns in Heaven.
🔹 2. THE HOLINESS AND GLORY OF GOD
📖 Revelation chapter 4 verses 6 to 8
Around the throne were heavenly beings continually proclaiming:
“Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty.”
All heaven recognizes:
- the purity of God
- His majesty
- His eternal power
👉 In a world that has lost reverence for the sacred, Revelation 4 reminds us who God truly is.
He is not only loving.
He is holy.
Lesson:
The more we contemplate the holiness of God, the more we realize our need for transformation.
🔹 3. ALL WORSHIP BELONGS TO GOD
📖 Revelation chapter 4 verses 10 and 11
The elders cast their crowns before the throne, saying:
“You are worthy, O Lord…”
Even though they possessed crowns, they recognized that all honor came from God.
👉 In Heaven there is no human exaltation. All glory belongs to the Creator.
He is worthy:
- because of creation
- because of His power
- because of redemption
- because He sustains life
Lesson:
True worship happens when God is at the center — not ourselves.
🟢 CONCLUSION (True Illustration)
A man was going through an extremely difficult season. Everything seemed lost. One night, while looking at the starry sky, he realized something:
Even with all the problems on Earth… the heavens still stood firm above him.
At that moment, he understood: God was still in control.
✨ FINAL APPEAL
Revelation chapter 4 reminds us that:
- the throne is still occupied
- God is still reigning
- Heaven is still worshiping
And while many live in fear and despair, God still invites His people to look upward.
👉 Do not focus your eyes only on the problems of Earth.
Look at the throne.
The same God worshiped in Heaven desires today to reign in your heart as well.
🙏 FINAL PRAYER
“Lord our God, in the midst of the struggles of this world, help us remember that Your throne remains firm.
When fear comes, give us confidence.
When faith grows weak, lift our eyes toward Heaven.
Teach us to worship You with sincerity and reverence, recognizing that only You are worthy of all honor and glory.
Remain in control of our lives.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.”
