Sermon Revelation 5
📖 THEME: “The Lamb Is Worthy”
(Based on Revelation chapter 5)

🟡 INTRODUCTION (True-to-life Illustration)
Once, a man received an extremely important document connected to his family inheritance. The problem was that the document was completely sealed, and no one could legally open it.
Many tried:
- specialists
- authorities
- influential people
But no one had the right to break the seals.
Until finally, someone appeared who had the authority and the right to open the document.
At that moment, despair turned into hope.
That is exactly what happens in Book of Revelation chapter 5.
John sees a scroll sealed in the hand of God — and no one seems worthy to open it.
Until the Lamb appears.

🔹 1. THE SEALED SCROLL AND JOHN’S DESPAIR
📖 Revelation chapter 5 verses 1 to 4
John sees a scroll sealed with seven seals.
A mighty angel asks:
“Who is worthy to open the scroll?”
But no one:
- in Heaven
- on Earth
- or under the Earth
could open it.
John begins to weep.
👉 This represents humanity’s inability to solve the problem of sin and fully understand the plan of redemption.
Humanity may have:
- knowledge
- technology
- power
But it cannot save itself.
Lesson:
Without Christ, humanity has no true hope.
---
🔹 2. THE LAMB WHO WAS SLAIN
📖 Revelation chapter 5 verses 5 to 7
Then one of the elders says:
“Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah…”
But when John looks… he sees a Lamb as though it had been slain.
👉 Jesus is revealed both:
- as the Lion → symbol of power and victory
- and as the Lamb → symbol of sacrifice and redemption
He is worthy because He overcame.
Not through military strength.
Not through violence.
But through the sacrifice of the cross.
Lesson:
The greatest victory in history happened at Calvary.
---
🔹 3. HEAVEN WORSHIPS THE LAMB
📖 Revelation chapter 5 verses 8 to 14
When the Lamb takes the scroll, all Heaven bursts into worship.
The heavenly beings proclaim:
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain…”
All creation recognizes:
- His power
- His redemption
- His authority
👉 The center of Heaven is not man.
The center of Heaven is Christ.
He is worthy:
- because He died for sinners
- because He rose again
- because He reigns forever
Lesson:
True worship begins when we recognize what Christ has done for us.

🟢 CONCLUSION (True-to-life Illustration)
A man was condemned by a debt he could never pay. There was no escape.
Then someone appeared willing to pay the entire debt in his place.
That day, the man walked away free.
That is exactly what Jesus did.
The price of sin was impossible for humanity to pay.
But the Lamb took our place.

✨ FINAL APPEAL
Revelation chapter 5 reminds us that:
- there is still hope
- Heaven has not lost control
- Jesus is still worthy
While many seek salvation in:
- money
- power
- empty religion
- human solutions
Heaven points only to the Lamb.
👉 Only He can open the seals.
Only He can save.
Today, Jesus is still inviting you to trust in Him.
---
🙏 FINAL PRAYER
“Our Lord God,
thank You because the Lamb has overcome.
Thank You because Jesus took our place and brought hope to humanity.
Help us live a life of true worship, recognizing that only Christ is worthy of honor, glory, and praise.
May our faith remain firm in the Lamb who was slain, but who lives forever.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.”
